So few moments in a lifetime are etched on your soul in such a way that you can pull up the memory in a blink like it were just yesterday. Some of these moments come with tokens meant to remind us of their significance.

One fine day, Jack gave Jamie a ring.

Here begins an engagement story.

We are wise to this leap of commitment, the excitement, and the giddy joy that comes along with the start of new plans for a future together. We experienced this ourselves and get a front row seat many times over again every year with newly engaged and utterly in love couples, which has a little do with why I’m a little emotional about this particular tale. See, Jamie is my little sister. I watched her grow up from butterball baby to way talkative toddler, to a brilliantly talented teen. Now I get to see her through marriage to one incredible man. I’m in tears over the honor.

As engagements go, photography is a must. Jamie wanted snow and our family property.  From a photographer’s perspective – this is perfect. Jack proposed at our parent’s home: a significant location for them. Real connections spur real emotions. Real emotions make photography meaningful. The story continues…

So, if you’re planning your engagement session, you can expect that we’re going to ask you to get cozy, breathe together, and engage with each other. Above everything, we want you to pay attention to each other and just be in love. We’ll take care of the rest.
